The Aubusson tapestry process has a history of more than hundreds of years, and this tradition consists of Aubusson image weaving methods and processes elsewhere in the Kreuz region of France. This process is mainly used in the production of large wall decorative tapestries, but also in the production of carpets and furniture. The Aubusson tapestry can be based on an image of any artistic style, with the underlying image prepared by a paper template designer. Knitting is done by hand by a weaver, the loom is placed horizontally, the Weaver works on the back of the tapestry, and the yarn used is dyed by the home hand. The whole process is time-consuming and expensive. The Aubusson tapestry is a common standard around the world, so that Aubusson has become a common term in some languages. The tapestries produced by Aubusson and Filtan provide enough work for three small businesses and about 10 freelance weaving craftsmen to complete, thus also creating a wide range of related job opportunities (wool production and textiles, sales, by-products, museums, exhibitions and tourism). In order to maintain the stable development of the production process, in order to avoid the fragmentation of the transmission, it is necessary to stimulate the interest of young people in this tradition, so as to promote this cultural tradition.
