Every July 17, Kyoto, central Japan, holds the Zouyuan Festival, which culminates in a grand parade of floats ("yamahoko", "Yamahoko"), known as "mobile museums" for their exquisite tapestries, wooden and metal ornaments. The sacrifice was held at the Bakan Shrine. Thirty-two floats were built by residents of Kyoto Autonomous District. They have inherited this tradition for many years. Musicians from each district formed a band to accompany the parade. Craftsmen of all kinds decorated the float, split and assembled it. The order of their journey was determined by grabbing lots every year. There are two different types of floats: Yama is a plateau float, decorated into a mountain; Yu is made of wooden columns, initially used to summon the God of plague, so that he can be transformed into a god of protection in music, dance and worship. Today, the Shanhao Parade is a typical urban summer festival that demonstrates the creative spirit and artistic talent of the construction of regional lottery cars and provides entertainment for the whole city.
