端午节是中国的传统节日，节期在农历五月初五。迄今已有2500余年历史。由驱毒避邪的节令习俗衍生出各地丰富多彩的祭祀、游艺、保健等民间活动，主要有祭祀屈原、纪念伍子胥、插艾蒿、挂菖蒲、喝雄黄酒、吃粽子、龙舟竞渡、除五毒等。各种活动因地域差别而略有不同，尤以湖北省秭归县、黄石市更具典型性。端午节是蕴涵独特民族精神和丰富文化内涵的传统节日，对中国民俗生活有重大影响。

The Dragon Boat Festival

Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, which falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the fifth lunar month. So far, it has a history of more than 2500 years. From the festival custom of eliminating poisons and evading evil spirits, various folk activities such as sacrifice, recreation and health care have been developed, including sacrificing Quyuan, commemorating Wu Zixu, inserting Artemisia argyi, hanging calamus, drinking realgar wine, eating zongzi, dragon boat race and eliminating five poisons. Various activities are slightly different due to regional differences, especially in Zigui County and Huangshi City, Hubei Province. Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival with unique national spirit and rich cultural connotation, which has a significant impact on Chinese folk life.
