Kunqu Opera

Kunqu Opera, one of the oldest operas in China, originated in the Ming Dynasty (14th - 17th century A.D.). The singing of Kunqu Opera has a strong artistry, which has a tremendous impact on all kinds of modern Chinese drama, such as Sichuan Opera and Beijing Opera. Kunqu opera performances include singing, reading, doing, playing and dancing, which are also basic subjects for training Beijing opera performers. Kun Opera and its dramatic structure (Dan, Ugly, Sheng, etc.) are also used for reference by other operas. Peony Pavilion and Changshengdian have become traditional repertoires. Kunqu opera is accompanied by gongs, drums, strings, flutes, flutes, sheng, Pipa and other orchestral and percussive instruments. The dance movements of Kunqu Opera are mainly divided into two categories, which have abundant expressive force.
